Need answers? Some questions come up again and again so we’ve made a list. You should find all the information you want here, but if there’s anything else, please get in touch. 



  1. What types of rooms do you offer?

    We have Single, Double (no window), Double (with window), Queen (no window), Queen (with window), Accessible rooms and Family Rooms (with Bunk Beds).

  2. How large is a Z bedroom and what is included?

    They are small but perfectly formed, luxury rooms (they are works of genius; you’ll wonder why you’ve ever bothered spending more on space before). The smallest bedrooms start from 8m2 (85ft2). Our typical bedrooms are 10-12m2 (110-130ft2). That’s around half the size of a traditional bedroom.

  3. What will I find in the room?

    A bespoke hand-crafted bed (see naturalmat.co.uk). In-room entertainment (Samsung HDTVs with Sky & BT Sports). An en-suite shower room with complimentary toiletries. Storage under the bed and hanging space. Individual controlled air-conditioning. Free wifi, of course.

  4. Do you provide room service?

    Our Guest Service Assistants can help with irons and ironing boards upon request. For food and drink our cafes are open 24/7 and you are welcome to eat in your rooms.

  5. What won’t I find?

    No phones. No minibars. No safes. (For any valuables, ask reception if they are able to store safely for you). See? Everything and all you need, right where you need it.

  6. What if I want to stay longer than one or two nights? Does Z have larger bedrooms to suit?

    Absolutely. Z Hotels at Gloucester Place offers a Z King and Z Junior Suite with 20-30sq/m (210-320sq/ft). Both have wardrobes. And the Junior Suite has a seating area. Enough space to put your feet up and make yourself at home.

  7. Do any Z rooms have twin beds?

    No twin bedrooms, doubles only.

  8. Which Hotels have family rooms?

    We have family rooms in Shoreditch, City, Covent Garden and Holborn in London and our hotel in Bath.

  9. What if I need a cot or rollaway bed?

    We do have a limited number. Just call us before you book and we’ll see if we can get hold of one for you.

  10. Is every bedroom a room with a view?

    You can admire the city from the majority of Z rooms. But we have some windowless rooms called Z Inside (for example Z Inside Double and Z Inside Queen). They have everything that a standard Z room has, just without the window. And they come at a lower rate to reflect this.

  11. Do you have rooms in the lower ground floor of Z hotels?

    Yes. With the exception of Liverpool, Glasgow and Soho. And all with the same high standards and features you’d expect from Z Hotels.

  12. I’ve read that there’s little privacy between the bedroom and the en-suite shower room. Is that correct?

    A frosted glass partition between the bedroom and shower room gives you an element of privacy.

  13. Do you allow smoking in the rooms?

    No. Rooms and floors are non-smoking, non-vaping and non-e cigs, too. That way, we keep the air fresh for everyone.

  14. Can I open the window in my room?

    We do have hotels with bedrooms where the window does not open at all, and some hotels where the window opens slightly, all in accordance with health and safety guidelines for each city or landmark. For more information please contact the hotel directly. Need to cool off? All rooms come with individually controlled air conditioning.

  15. Do you have any interconnecting rooms?

    No, we don’t. But if you’re travelling with friends and would like to be neighbours, then just ask. If we have availability, we can put you near each other.

  16. Is Wi-Fi available in the rooms and public areas?

    Yes, Wi-Fi is included in every room free of charge.

  17. Is there a fee for using Wi-Fi?

    As above our Wi-Fi is free of charge.

  18. Is there a safe in the room for valuables?

    We do not offer safes in our rooms. Any valuables can be stored safely at Reception for you.


  1. Are your Hotels open 24 hours?

    Our Hotels are open 24 hours. Our café area and bars are open until late, with food and drink available 24/7 for in house guests.

  2. How can I make a reservation?

    Simply click Book a Room at the top right hand corner of our website for a full list of our 14 City Hotels in London, Bath, Liverpool and Glasgow to check our availability. Sign up as a member and receive 10% off and other fantastic benefits.

  3. Can I book a Z room cheaper on another site?

    Never. We like equality in our pricing. You get like-for-like bedroom prices in all our hotels. And they’re the same price on hotel booking sites, too.

  4. Do your room prices vary through the year?

    Yes, depending on demand and season. You’ll get the cheapest rates the more in advance you book. The early bird gets the Z worm, so to speak.

  5. What food options do you offer?

    Our cafes offer a selection of sandwiches, toasties, salads, pizza, tea, coffee, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

  6. Can I split the bill between multiple people?

    Yes we can. Please just ask one of our teams to assist you on this.

  7. Does Z Cafe accommodate special dietary needs? Be sure to let our teams know of any allergies too.

    Yes some. We have some gluten free and vegan options at Breakfast and for additional meals in all of cafes.

  8. Is there lots to see and do near Z hotels?

    Absolutely. For Z hotels, brilliant locations are part of our DNA. They’re all in prime spots, bang in the middle of lively city neighbourhoods with an exciting choice of bars, restaurants and entertainment on the doorstep.

  9. Any more Z Hotels in the pipeline?

    Yes, exciting times ahead. We can’t reveal too much about them yet but keep checking our website for details.

  10. Do you have accessible rooms and wheelchair access?

    All Z Hotels have accessible (DDA compliant) rooms and wheelchair access, except for Z Gloucester Place. Due to it having listed building status, it wasn’t possible to adapt the hotel to include wheelchair access.

  11. Can I request an early check-in or late check-out?

    Absolutely. Please add the request in the comment section when making your booking with us. Alternatively you can contact our teams via email. Simply add the hotel name e.g. bath@thezhotels.com

  12. What are the benefits of becoming a member?

    10% off the public rate in all of our hotels. Complimentary Cheese & Wine every stay with us. Early Check in, late Check Out - subject to availability. Free Upgrade - subject to availability. 10% off food and drink (excl. Breakfast).

  13. Can you recommend nearby attractions and activities?

    Yes. Our teams pride themselves with local knowledge. Please ask at reception for further details. Our Instagram pages will also help you with local knowledge too.

  14. Can I book a meeting room in the hotel?

    We don’t have private meeting rooms in Z Hotels (we thought we’d give you more great bedrooms instead). But you can use the Z Café for a more informal meeting. It’s open 24 hours.

  15. Can I bring my pet to a Z Hotel?

    Sorry, we only allow assistance dogs. But we have wifi – you can video call them if you’re missing them!

  16. What is your cancellation policy?

    No refunds or transfers are allowed for Advanced Purchase Rate rooms. After check-in, guest bookings are non-transferable and non-refundable. If you book our Flexible rate, free cancellation and modification is possible, up to 2 days prior to arrival

  17. Is there a deposit required for booking?

    Deposits and pre-payments are required for all of the rates featured online. Payment is taken from your credit or debit card at the time of booking.

  18. What payment methods do you accept?

    We currently accept Amex, Visa and Mastercard in all of our properties.

  19. Do you have any designated parking?

    All our Hotels are centrally located in London, Bath, Glasgow and Liverpool which makes walking around very simple, with transport direct into our locations. Therefore none of our properties have parking.

  20. What security measures are in place at the hotel?

    We have CCTV cameras in all of our properties. For your safety our main doors are closed around 10pm, with 24/7 Reception cover.

  21. Is there access to printing, faxing, or copying services?

    Yes, simply just ask the team at Reception.

  22. Do you offer laundry or dry cleaning services?

    Sadly no, however, our teams can direct you to the nearest dry cleaners.

  23. What is the procedure for lost items?

    We keep all lost property for 3 months. Any lost property returned will incur postage/courier fees.

  24. How do you ensure my details are kept safe ?

    Keeping your data secure is a top priority - please refer to the Disclosure of Personal Information within our Terms & Conditions.

  25. What should guests do in case of an emergency?

    In case of emergency any issue is immediately assessed by our trained teams. If a full evacuation is required you will be directed to exit the building safely to the assembly point.

  26. How can guests provide feedback or address concerns during their stay?

  27. Can you assist with arranging transportation services such as taxis, rideshares, or public transportation?

    Our teams will certainly assist with local taxi services and direct you to public transport where possible
